A Conjunction and a New Era: Saturn and Neptune in Aries

Saturn in Aries: February 2026 - April 2028 |
Neptune in Aries: January 2026 - March 2039

Do you remember the Great Conjunction of 2020? In December of that year, Saturn and Jupiter met in the sky in Aquarius. It was a big deal because it was gorg—we could see it with the naked eye. Some think that may be what was considered the Christmas Star back in the day in Bethlehem. Also, we didn’t have much to do that winter, so getting outside to view this meet-cute was an adventure.

But this Saturn-Neptune conjunction at the 0 degree of Aries? This is a BIG DEAL, y’all. Saturn and Neptune are both outer planets, so they are slow moving. Thus their meeting is extremely rare. The last time they connected was around 36 years ago, and the placement was less significant. The last time they met in Aries? Hundreds of years ago, and the last time they met at the Aries Point—the very beginning of the zodiac? Thousands of years ago.

Saturn (earth) and Neptune (water) bring conflicting energy, and neither does well in fiery Aries, ruled by Mars. Neptune represents the veil between fantasy and reality. Strong is the 🌊 water in this one. Intoxicating is a synonym. It can be the dream and the ideal, or it can be delusion and dissolution. It can be spiritual and mystical, or it can be deceptive and intoxicating. Erosion or a vision? Escapism or wonder? All of the above all together? All that ✨ is not gold. Neptune is associated with the 12th House—the end of the zodiac.

🪐On the other hand, Saturn shapes our dreams, builds the structure for our plans, provides the container for our visions. Saturn slaps down reality checks; it's all about the long game. Lessons in self-discipline, that's Saturn. Boundaries tightening? Saturn. Karma coming to bite you in the ass? Saturn. The ringed planet traffics in the currency of commitment, responsibility, accountability, and consequences.

🌎🌊🔥BUT Saturn and Neptune TOGETHER, and in Aries, that’s a whole different vibe. AND—we’re in a whole new era. Between the Saturn-Neptune conjunction at the beginning of the zodiac, and Pluto in Aquarius, and Uranus entering Gemini in April, the energy of the Universe transforms and so does—clearly—the world order. What is being ushered in?

You may experience the watery mess that is Neptune, and its propensity for leaks and dissolution. Or you may experience Saturn’s commitment to building. Neptune in Aries, the spiritual warrior. Saturn in Aries, grandmother molding the toddler. It’s likely what we will feel most is: the conflict (or confluence) between Neptune’s desire to erode and Saturn’s desire to erect. If we’re thinking about framework, architecture, and systems; ideals, dreams, and visions; combine this with the courage of Aries. Aries will not 🛑. It is drive and aggression and assertion. Perhaps we envision the ideal (Neptune) and manifest toward that; then we build a container (Saturn) for that dream. Then let’s infuse it with the action of Aries. That’s how we mold this energy.

Last summer, when Saturn and Neptune first ingressed Aries (before they retrograded back into Pisces), we looked at them both together and separately. Because of this conjunction, February 20 at the zero degree of Aries, let’s consider the mess together.

If you haven't already, reflect on what it is you want in that area of your chart. Neptune will stay in Aries for 12 years more, moving like a slow tide, shaping and shifting your life. Yet, the status: It's complicated.

Saturn has joined Neptune in Aries for the next three years—so while Neptune is in there with a watercolor paintbrush muddying the waters and fighting the fire, Saturn is walloping around attempting to stake an anchor in the flames. It's a hot mess, so embrace it.

🌪️What type of typhoon has been whirling around your Aries placement?

Discernment. Identify the beautiful distractions. Who is the warrior? Let the illusions fall away. Build on firm ground. Think: an alchemical vibe. That’s the goal.

Neptune energy is essential for inner work and insight. Nurture the dream. What framework do we build to contain it? Saturn's boundaries. How do we alchemize?
