There’s nothing more delicious than having the space to savor bedtime. Nice, soothing music is a bonus.

Venus is the first of the personal planets this year to follow Saturn and Neptune into the warrior sign, the first in the zodiac. More notably, she’s the first to head in since their conjunction at the Aries Point (o degrees).

To help folks with the overwhelm that comes with downloading and using Insight Timer in its 9th or 10th year, I’m highlighting some of my favorite teachers, artists, and tracks.

Think of it: Pisces is all watery and mystical and creative and relaxed. It’s also sensitive and empathetic. Mars is action. It's like adding a catalyst to our dreams and producing kinetic energy. 

I couldn’t imagine adding the app Insight Timer to my toolkit in 2025. There are nearly 300,000 free meditations and tracks, and more than 20,000 teachers. I’ve been on the app for around 10 years, so occasionally I’ll share some of my favorite teachers (I follow over 200).

🌕There were two Virgo new moons last fall one an eclipse, so if you reflect on the past six months, that could provide a review of what you've let go of since then. Go deeper by examining the past few years. If you know what house your Virgo is in, that will provide insight into what's transformed in that area.

Mercury is now in Pisces. Le sigh. AND, it’s also retrograde. This is mucky astrology. You feel it already, right? Mercury is both in detriment and in its fall in Pisces (meaning it’s its 2 worst possible placements at the same time), and a retrograde is just more fog on top of that. Adventures ahead: time to get flexible and pull out your toolkit. 

Saturn and Neptune TOGETHER, and in Aries, that’s a whole different vibe. AND—we’re in a whole new era. Between the Saturn-Neptune conjunction at the beginning of the zodiac, and Pluto in Aquarius, and Uranus entering Gemini in April, the energy of the Universe transforms and so does—clearly—the world order. What is being ushered in?

🌪️When a planet is in detriment or fall or exile, it can’t help us as much. It struggles to do its job. And Mercury’s job is the flow of information: communication, technology, transportation, accounting. It can’t deliver the message, get the point across, count properly. It’s just a damn mess.

Taurus is material security. It’s our resources, our values, our physical safety, our finances. On the global scale that’s where we expect disruption. Uranus is the planet of rebellion, breakthroughs, awakenings, revolution, liberation, and the future. Its energy is discontinuous. It spins on its side

😈It's playtime! The planet of sweetness, connection, relationships, harmony, beauty, and art, is in Scorpio, the sign of deep analysis, emotional depth, and psychological transformation. Relationship dynamics will be transformative and emotions are worth savoring. If you have Venus in Scorpio, this is your Venus return.

Dancing around the ideas of our collective trauma, our intoxication with “later” and salvation, and the lie of separation; and the rat park method instead of “information” overload and our commitment to agency; and our avoidance of death yet our capacity to confront the portal; and the idea of purposefully resourcing ourselves so that we may resource our communities, the Collective, and the world is the question: what are you doing now?

This messy Mercury retrograde may feel a little more disruptive than usual, thanks to this particular transit. So in addition to the usual, let’s take a note from say, Mars in retrograde or eclipse season advice. Rest. Hydrate. Ground. Touch grass. Move your body. Avoid overscheduling. Avoid overheating. Avoid rash action. Sleep on major decisions. Rinse. Repeat.

Taurus is sensual 💃, while Scorpio is emotionally and psychologically deep 🖤. The moon represents not only the body, but the emotional body. And she is exalted in Taurus, meaning she offers us her best in this sign.

Whereas Mercury in Scorpio went deep and dark, Mercury in Sagittarius goes wide and bright🔆: A period of possibility. Now’s the time for light. Philosophy and curiosity are the themes of the day. Positivity, teaching, and wisdom rule. Another plus of Mercury in Sag: a sense of humor. Witty times, my friends, witty times 🤡.

Scorpio season is for exploring our emotional and psychological depths. We crave more meaning, we want more feeling. Forget chit chat and time fillers. Personal and relational exploration and investigation are the order of the day.

What if you could walk into family gatherings feeling centered instead of scattered? What if the holidays became a time to practice your inner authority instead of losing it to old patterns and other people's expectations?

🌚This New Moon is BIG. It's our first since eclipse season, and it's in Libra, the home of Venus and where the sun is now. The eclipse portal is officially closed. Now’s the time to alchemize. Now we turn our eyes to the whole: how is this story working out for everyone involved? For all of us?

Mars is the ruler of Aries, where it’s hot and inflammatory, and Mars is the ruler of Scorpio: intensity and scrutiny are the vibes. It’s here to shine a bright light. Review what you’ve been working on and through for the past six months since the full moon in Libra. What did you seed last spring that deserves celebration?

I sought insight from my pineal gland, and the answer that came for next steps at the end of the meditation was “strategy.” That’s why we nurture mindful and sacred practices—not only so we’re present and compassionate, but so we come to greater alignment with ourselves and the Universe.
