All the Heady Details: Mercury in Virgo

September 2 - 18, 2025

Mercury is hoooommmmee! Out of retrograde, rotating forward, and now exalted in Virgo—this is information flow vibes. It’s intellectual processes vibes. This is clear, direct messaging with details intact. Chaos into order, you got it!

The shadowy energy of eclipse season may be hovering about, but clarity in communications and problem-solving shall abound. It's a delicious time to manifest, express, and voice your needs, desires, and most importantly your boundaries (it is after all also eclipse season).

It gets better. On Friday, September 12, Mercury in Virgo (where it's exalted) sextiles Jupiter in Cancer (where it's exalted). Sextiles are a good thing, because of course they are. AND ON TOP OF THAT, we have a Mercury cazimi (a sun-Mercury conjunction that means ‘heart of the sun’) and a Sun sextile Jupiter the next day. Say it loud, proud, and boldly! Mercury and Jupiter were conjunct back in June when they were both in Cancer and now they're bringing that sexy energy back in a sweet sextile. Honor your voice, honor expression, honor your inner authority.

A few dates to note between now and then include September 11, when Mercury will conjoin the South Node in Virgo, right after the eclipse. The South Node is where the second new moon Virgo will occur, and is a point of release. What will we release and/or what will we lose? Best case scenario we kick the overanalytical, the self-critical, and the perfectionism to the curb. We might also see a loss of data, details and information.

As with any other significant signature of transformation, we allow, we let go, we surrender.

We’ll also have a square between Mercury in Virgo and big sibling Uranus in Gemini. It can't get more Mercury than this. Uranus is the planet of breakthroughs, awakenings, rebelliousness, and freedom. Its energy is discontinuous. It rotates funky, and its moons darken on the wrong sides. Because it's related to technology though, its energy is similar to Mercury's, but on blast. Furthermore, Mercury rules both Virgo and Gemini. Whatever disruption occurs on Wednesday, it will be LOUD. Prepare for overstimulation of the mind. Like the eclipse, this is energy to surrender to. It will be what it will be.

For this eclipse season, it might be worth it to identify not only those things that keep you grounded, but the things that tilt you groundless. What is the worst escapism pattern you could rely on? What's better than that? Or not as bad? When you reach for the thing that's "not as bad" say "better than [].

Virgo helps us separate the wheat from the chaff. Mercury in Virgo helps us refine. Helps us optimize. Helps us find the efficiencies.

Clear comms and organization, expression and reception. Let the messenger planet do its thing.
