The North Node in Pisces

January 2025-July 2026

On January 11, the nodes made big moves. The North Node left Aries, and settled into Pisces, while the South Node cozied up in Virgo after hanging out in Libra. The axis of Pisces and Virgo at the nodes is a big piece of 2025 astrology. It’s the first of many BIG changes this year, including Pluto, Uranus, Neptune, Saturn, and Jupiter.

This means big things for the temperature of the world. Stay with me now. The nodes are the head and tail of the dragon, living at the parts of the moon where eclipses happen.

The North Node—the head of the dragon—is HUNGRY. The North Node is insatiable, and in traditional astrology a point of chaos. ( In modern astrology it can be a point of purpose.) In Pisces, that can mean an increase in spirituality, compassion, care and vulnerability. It can also be an increase in gullibility and religious fanaticism. We may be prone to fantasize, to feel loss more poignantly. It can mean an increase in fantasy, illusions and delusions. Open-ended questioning will thrive.  Pisces may be punctuated in March and September when eclipses happen.

The part of your chart containing Pisces gets a major boost of desire. North Node is unreliable; it can be a trigger for major aggravation. The first Pisces NN eclipse was in September 2024—did something big happen for you in the house of your chart where Pisces lives? For the world, Pisces talks about the dream, compassion, oneness—it is not concerned with details and logistics (it’s the opposite of Virgo, on the same axis). It’s the poet of the Zodiac, the big-hearted one making sure everyone is cared for and considered. There is a deep need to extend oneself -- hopefully that will extend to our planet. BUT…the planet loves some escapism. The North Node and Neptune were conjunct last week on February 6—Neptune is the planet of delusion and fantasy, as well as the ideal. It amplifies the desire of the North Node. It’s about  big love and interconnectedness. It may be fleeting, though.

This isn’t all bad. Think of it as an act of surrender. It’s a practice of acceptance, but with a poetic vibe. We’re on this ride until July 2026. Can we hone our intuition while staying grounded?
